International
voluntary work camps in Provence and the Mediterranean
region
The international voluntary work camps (for teens of
16 and 17 years old and adults over 18) aim at enhancing
appreciation and enjoyment of manual work. They provide
a new relationship with regional heritage and history,
without any great qualification requirements. These
camps are called international camps because the volunteers
generally come from several different countries. The
groups are mixed and include 10 to 15 participants.
Camps seek to establish a balance between practical
work, generally carried out in the mornings (building
work and/or landscape design and care) and the discovery
of a region with opportunities for cultural and sporting
events during free time. They are held during the summer
months, and generally last 2 or 3 weeks.
Euro-Mediterranean
campuses
The campuses are more specifically intended for students
from Europe and Mediterranean countries. They take the
form of workshops with about fifteen participants working
in multi-disciplinary international groups for 3 to
5 weeks, during the students summer holidays.
They include field studies and surveys that use professional
skills in the areas of heritage preservation and the
environment (in the widest possible sense): architecture,
history of art, regional development, sociology, law,
etc.)
