A word from the founders

APARE organized a weekend of festivities at Le Beaucet on 21-22 July 2001 (84) to celebrate its 20th birthday. Four hundred people attended the event in Le Beaucet, a charming village in the Vaucluse. On Saturday, volunteers and APARE partners gathered together to listen to music and have a drink, with discussions, a gargantuan buffet and theatre entertainment (the TRAC theatre group)... Sunday was organized around the project to create Le Beaucet's dry stone heritage centre.
On this sunny day, a voluntary team of "wallers" helped construct a dry stone cairn to mark the centenary of the law of 1 July 1901 and APARE's 20th birthday.
The start of the first dry stone sport marathon was also launched. Lastly, the CME (Centre Permanent d’Initiatives pour l’Environnement des Pays de Vaucluse, a centre for environmental initiatives) organized walks and Nature events around St Gens.
Beaucet's village fête took place at the same time and APARE joined in to ensure that the weekend was truly festive.
To sum up, happiness certainly was in the meadow in Le Beaucet that weekend!

"APARE is an educational youth association that has organized more than 300 voluntary workcamps in over 100 communes in Provence and abroad for the last 20 years”.
"For our 20th birthday, we have decided to offer you several itineraries that go beyond the constructed paths and will give you the opportunity to discover Provence's intimate nature as well as some of our most beautiful work sites which are part of our heritage and landscapes”.
"This Ariane's thread of discovery is also an adventure involving 5 000 young people from all corners of the world who worked on this huge site in a gesture of solidarity and pleasure."
