The southern mountain slopes of the “Provençal giant” shelter numerous sheepfolds (known as ‘jas’), built and used by shepherds throughout the seasons. The Mourre ‘jas’ is situated at an altitude of 1060 metres, in the heart of the biosphere reserve of the Ventoux Mountain, on land belonging to Bedoin council. The south opening of the ‘jas’ is suffering from serious problems, which compromise its stability. You will intervene as part of a programme to develop the Ventoux sheepfolds and make them secure.
