Technical workshops

Technical training courses “Learning stonework”.

In the context of practical restoration and heritage protection, these training courses teach cut-stone techniques. From the quarry to bonding the stone, from stone clearing to on-site reinforcement, participants will be trained to use tools and will learn the essential notions of dry stone construction along with the basics of stone cutting.

Training courses have three aims for participants:

  • learning a technique
  • getting an introduction to a new profession
  • putting into action collaborative reflexion on heritage restoration.

Training courses are based around units lasting two consecutive days and are organised upon request.

Information and conditions for participation are available from Jean-Michel André at the APARE.
